Unicoin / a personal note

Hi Zapier,

Thank you for your interest in Unicoin!

This is an unusual update.
It’s personal.
I’d like to share with you that last Friday, 33 years after my arrival in the United States, I finally became a U.S. citizen.
I did it because America had become my home country. Much more so than Russia where I was born but which I chose to leave at the first opportunity, at age of 24.
I’d prefer to be proud of my birth country, but Russia is hardly a country one can be proud to be associated with nowadays. Just with its unjustifiable Ukraine war, it caused over a millions casualties and millions of refugees.
So, I became one of the millions of Russians who had to immigrate to live their lives proudly. Without being marred by Russia’s wars, hacking, meddling and assassinations.
My road to becoming an American was not easy, as the Russian KGB made me their Most Wanted. As CBS’ “60 Minutes” reported “Konanykhin didn’t only have KGB after him. He had FBI, the Justice Department and even the CIA after him.
“The FBI notified Konanykhin that Russian organized crime figures had paid to have him killed,” reported The New York Times.
Why so much attention? There were countless articles on the subject. By the time he was 25 he was one of the most important figures in post-Communist Russia. But in 1992, while on a business trip to Hungary, Alex Konanykhine was kidnapped,” reported The Times (of London.) “Mr. Konanykhin was a whiz-kid physics student who became a pioneering Russian capitalist in early 1990s, building a banking and investment empire by his mid-20s. He was a member of President Boris Yeltsin’s inner circle,” reported The Wall Street Journal.
The U.S. government did not have any issue with me or my business directly but they were blackmailed by the KGB into trying to illegally extradite me. I had one of the longest (if not the longest) immigration cases.
Based on the testimony and evidence .., the Court now finds that [the Russian government] engineered the case against [Konanykhin] in order to secure his return to Russia. [The Russian government] wanted [Konanykhin] returned to Russia in order to punish him for exposing corruption amongst Russian government and business officials.” ruled Immigration Judge John Milos Bryant.
After winning all five lawsuits against the federal government, I left for Italy in late 2008, abandoning my asylum in the USA. I returned a few years later as I realized that America had become my true home.
With Silvina’s support and encouragement, I became a U.S. citizen to make sure that I could always return to my new home country without having to explain to the border officer the purpose of my visit.
Among other things, it’s important for my ability to work on turning Unicoin into a major success.

With very best wishes,
